Videogame Releases: Week of March 2nd, 2014

After multiple delays and the fall of longtime game publisher THQ, the ‘South Park’ RPG is finally here. With that and the next episode in the massively popular ‘Walking Dead’ series, it’s a big week for videogame releases.

South Park: The Stick of Truth (360, PS3, PC)

There have been ‘South Park’ games as far back as the days of the Nintedo 64, but none had a tenth of the promise of ‘South Park: The Stick of Truth‘. Matt Stone and Trey Parker have brought the full creative efforts of an actual episode, which when combined with the RPG prowess of Obsidian (‘Fallout: New Vegas’, ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II’) make a must-play game for fans of the cartoon series.

The Walking Dead Season 2: A House Divided (360, PS3, PC)

The Walking Dead Season 2: A House Divided‘ is the second episode of the second season. By the accounts of our Xbox 360 and PC reviews of the first episode, the series is still in full swing.

Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Sony and Housemarque have brought the PS3 twin-stick shooter ‘Dead Nation’ back from the dead and onto the PS4 in ‘Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition‘. Their other PS4 title, ‘Resogun‘, is so good that I’m more than willing to give ‘Dead Nation’ another try.

Awesomenauts Assemble! (PS4)

‘Awesomenauts’ has been a fun side-scrolling MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) on the PS3 and PC, so why not put out a PS4 version with all of the game’s expanded content? That’s where ‘Awesomenauts Assemble!‘ comes into play, and it should garner an immediate online community on Sony’s new console.

Master Reboot (PS3)

I missed ‘Master Reboot‘ when it the PC last October. It seems to be a first-person title that mixes the indie “Walk around and click for memory playback” style of games with the new indie horror style. As you waltz around the memory database strolling through memory lane, an anti-virus/creepy little girl comes to hunt you down. Could be very cool.

Probably – it will be like $20 in a month or two for the PC. However, this looks really cool, based on gameplay footage. I may go ahead and pick it up tomorrow.

From the footage, it looks like the PC version is mouse driven. IDK, I am thinking of going ahead and picking up a console tomorrow, so I may pick this game up for it.

I am probably going to start building a gaming desktop next week, but I think the laptop I have now should be able to play many games, and probably should be able to play this one.
