The latest CES-announced title to get an official street date and specs, Fox Home Entertainment will bring the holiday horror show 'Turistas' to Blu-ray on April 17.
Though the fear flick (dubbed 'Hostel'-lite by critics) was not a box office hit, it may do better on video, especially as Fox will be bringing it to Blu-ray in a more gruesome unrated cut.
Tech specs include a 2.35:1 widescreen, 1080p video transfer (codec TBA), and Fox's typical DTS HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 surround track.
Alas, the studio continues to disappoint with its inconsistent support of supplemental features on Blu-ray. Though the standard-def version (which streets three weeks earlier) comes chock full of extras, the next-gen edition will receive only a Blu-ray-exclusive "Organ Harvesting" trivia track, plus the theatrical trailer.
Fox has set a $39.98 list price for 'Turistas.'
Full specs, including box art, have now been added for the title to our Blu-ray Release Schedule under April 17.
