New Skype Update Allows HD Video Calls on iPad[teaser]The latest version of the video chat software finally supports calls in high definition for Apple's tablet. [/teaser] With the recent release of Skype 4.10, the popular video chat software has added HD calling capabilities for the iPad 4. Previously, the app was limited to standard definition chats, but now users can finally take advantage of their fourth generation iPad's front facing HD camera. In addition to HD support, the new update also promises general improvements to call stability and quality, helping to ensure that all your new HD conversations go through with as few snags as possible. The latest version of Skype is now available for download in the App Store. 'The Attack' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]Ziad Doueiri's thriller based on Yasmina Khadra's best-selling novel will arrive on Blu-ray in November. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Cohen Media Group is working on 'The Attack' for Blu-ray on November 12. Amin Jaafari is an Israeli Palestinian surgeon, fully assimilated into Tel Aviv society. He has a loving wife, an exemplary career, and many Jewish friends. But his picture-perfect life is turned upside down when a suicide bombing in a restaurant leaves nineteen dead, and the Israeli police inform him that his wife Sihem, who also died in the explosion, was responsible. Convinced of her innocence, Amin abandons the relative security of his adopted homeland and enters the Palestinian territories in pursuit of the truth. Once there, he finds himself in ever more dangerous places and situations. Determined, he presses on seeking answers to questions he never thought he would be asking. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox says 'Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans' will hit Blu-ray sometime in November. German Expressionist, F.W. Murnau's film won Academy Awards for Best Actress and Best Cinematography and remains a critically acclaimed piece of silent cinema. George O'Brien plays the young farmer who falls for The Woman From the City (Margaret Livingstone) and agrees to murder his Wife (Janet Gaynor) by drowning her. He is unable to fulfil his plan though, and is reconciled with his Wife. Together they embark on a celebratory adventure in the city (one of the most celebrated montage sequences ever filmed), but on their way home The Wife is lost overboard in a storm and believed drowned. The Woman from the City arrives to claim The Man, believing he has committed murder for her; but word arrives that his Wife has been saved and he rushes to her side. Amazon Kindle Fire HD Receives Limited Time Price Drop[teaser]The company's 7" HD tablet has cut its price for a limited time. [/teaser] Amazon has reduced the base price of its popular Kindle Fire HD 16GB tablet from $199 to $159, saving customers $40. The price cut comes in the wake of the release of Google's latest 7" tablet and amid rumors that Amazon will soon announce its own updated line of tablets in September. The Kindle HD Fire features a 1200x800 IPS display, a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor with Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics core, dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi, a front facing camera, and built in Bluetooth. The tablet is rated for up to 11 hours of battery life and provides users with access to over 23 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, books, audiobooks, apps and games. Adapted by Waldo Salt and Norman Wexler from Peter Maas's book, Sidney Lumet's 'Serpico' portrays the real-life struggle of an honest New York City cop who wages war against a corrupt system.
