Do Consumers Prefer Smart TVs over Jewelry as Gifts?[teaser]A new survey reveals just how much American consumers are willing to spend on gifts this holiday season and what items they are most likely to spend that cash on. [/teaser] According to a new survey of more than 1000 Americans conducted by Ebiquity and LG, 58 percent of consumers are likely to give televisions as a gift. The survey also reveals a few more interesting bits about consumers' buying and gifting habits for the 2013 holiday season. 39 percent of consumers are willing to spend more than $1000 on a single gift, and 50 percent are likely to share the price of gifts more expensive than $545. Perhaps most telling of all though, is the fact that 52 percent of Americans said that they would rather receive an 84-inch 4K smart TV over an equivalently priced piece of jewelery or a watch. That number dropped a bit when consumers were asked to choose between a smart TV and a trip to Europe, however, with 42 percent opting for a TV. Below is an infographic detailing more of the results. 11 Lionsgate Collectible Steelbooks Now Available[teaser]Eleven films are now available in Steelbook packaging exclusively at Best Buy, including 'Sin City,' 'Pulp Fiction,' and 'Terminator 2.' [/teaser] Lionsgate has released a wave of eleven films in special edition Steelbook packaging. The lineup includes: 'Pulp Fiction,' 'Total Recall,' 'Sin City,' 'Kill Bill Vol. 1,' 'Kill Bill Vol. 2,' 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day,' 'Rambo: First Blood,' 'Stargate,' 'Highlander,' 'Hero' and 'Apocalypse Now/Apocalypse Now Redux.' With the exception of 'Highlander,' each release also includes a Digital HD UltraViolet copy. All of the discs are on sale exclusively at Best Buy stores. Paul Walker Dead at 40[teaser]The 'Fast and the Furious' star has passed away. [/teaser] Paul Walker reportedly died on Saturday afternoon in a fiery car wreck shortly following a charity event involving his non-profit organization Reach Out Worldwide. The 2005 Porshe Carrera GT he was in burst into flames after crashing into a light pole in Valencia, California. Officials report excessive speed was a factor in the fatality. The actor was midway finished filming 'Fast and Furious 7' and his untimely death has delayed the production, although Universal still plans to go forward with the film.
