'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Blu-ray Features Detailed[teaser]Bonus features have been detailed for the comic book sequel web-slinging toward Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D in August, and pre-orders are now live. [/teaser] As previously reported, Sony is preparing 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 3D' and the 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' for Blu-ray, and now the date has been set for August 19. We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. Twilight Time Reveals Fall Titles[teaser]The company has announced its latest collection of limited edition Blu-rays, including 'La Bamba' and 'The Blob (1988).' [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Twilight Time is preparing eleven titles for Blu-ray throughout August, September, and October. The full lineup includes: August 12 Centennial Summer - In 1876 Philadelphia, two sisters vie for the affections of a Frenchman who's come to town to prepare the French pavilion for the Centennial exposition. September 9 La Bamba - Biographical story of the rise from nowhere of early rock and roll singer Ritchie Valens who died at age 17 in a plane crash with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. Che! - Biography of Argentinian revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara, who helped Fidel Castro in his struggle against the corrupt Batista regime, eventually resulting in the overthrow of that government and Castro's taking over of Cuba. The film covers Guevara's life from when he first landed in Cuba in 1956 to his death in an ambush by government troops in the mountains of Bolivia in 1967. Salvador - A journalist, down on his luck in the US, drives to El Salvador to chronicle the events of the 1980 military dictatorship, including the assasination of Archbishop Oscar Romero. He forms an uneasy alliance with both guerillas in the countryside who want him to get pictures out to the US press, and the right-wing military, who want him to bring them photographs of the rebels. Meanwhile he has to find a way of protecting his Salvadorean girlfriend and getting her out of the country. The Dogs of War - Mercenary James Shannon, on a reconnaissance job to the African nation of Zangaro, is tortured and deported. He returns to lead a coup. The Killer Elite - Mike Locke, who works for a private security firm affiliated with the CIA, is betrayed by his partner and left apparently crippled for life. October 14 Under Fire - Three journalists in a romantic triangle are involved in political intrigue during the last days of the corrupt Somozoa regime in Nicaragua before it falls to a popular revolution in 1979. Audrey Rose - A stranger attempts to convince a happily married couple that their daughter is actually his daughter reincarnated. Man Hunt - British hunter Thorndike vacationing in Bavaria has Hitler in his gun sight. He is captured, beaten, left for dead, and escapes back to London where he is hounded by German agents and aided by a young woman. The Believers - A New York psychiatrist finds that a voodoo cult, which believes in child sacrifice, has a keen interest in his own son. The Blob (1988) - A strange lifeform consumes everything in its path as it grows and grows. Specs, supplements, and suggested list prices have not been detailed yet, but with the exception of 'The Blob (1988),' each disc will be limited to 3,000 units. Hulu Adds Magnolia Titles[teaser]The streaming service is adding several Magnolia Pictures films to its lineup. [/teaser] Hulu and Magnolia Pictures have announced a deal that will bring several Magnolia movies to the Hulu library. The continued partnership will allow users to watch a new collection of varied content across multiple devices. The deal includes a wide range of titles like 'Centurion,' 'Tucker & Dale vs. Evil,' 'The Girlfriend Experience,' 'Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop,' 'Freakonomics,' 'A Place at the Table,' 'Food, Inc.', 'Marley,' 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi' and '13 Assassins.' Magnolia Pictures is co-owned by Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban, and is affiliated with the duo's other media properties including the Landmark Theatres chain, 2929 Productions and the high-definition cable networks AXS TV and HDNet Movies. Streaming access to these Magnolia titles and more should be rolling out now to Hulu and Hulu Plus customers.
