AT&T U-Verse App Adds More Live Channels[teaser]The mobile streaming app now offers more than 50 new live channels. [/teaser] AT&T has announced the addition of several channels to its live U-Verse mobile app lineup. Likewise, the company has launched app support for the Amazon Kindle Fire HD & HDX, and the Fire phone. With this latest influx of channels, the app now offers more than 180 live channels. Of that number, more than 100 are available to stream on the go. The list of channels available to watch inside and outside the home now includes stations like ABC Family, Cinemax, CNN, HBO, TNT, TBS, TCM, and HGTV. In addition to the new live viewing options, the U-Verse app also lets customers choose from over 400 hours of EPIX on-demand movies, including popular titles like 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' 'Skyfall' and 'Star Trek Into Darkness.' U-Verse customers can now enjoy the new channels on their previously supported smartphones and tablets, and Amazon Kindle Fire HD, HDX, and Fire phone owners can now download the U-Verse app from the Amazon Appstore. NFL Now Heads to Apple TV[teaser]The NFL's digital video service is now available on Apple's set-top box. [/teaser] Joining previously supported devices like the Amazon Fire TV, Kindle Fire tablets, Roku 3, and Roku Streaming Stick, the NFL has launched NFL Now on the Apple TV. The app offers access to the NFL's growing collection of football video content. NFL Now is the National Football League's recently launched online digital video service. The internet-connected network provides personalized content to football fans, giving users access to customizable news, analysis and highlights. In addition, the service also features live events, press conferences, shows and an extensive library of on-demand NFL media including NFL Films content. Apple TV owners can now download the NFL Now app on their devices. Fans can also upgrade to NFL Now Plus for $1.99 per month to receive even more content, including instant in-game highlights, a customized highlight stream, and an extensive vault of NFL Films shows and documentaries. 'The Quatermass Experiment' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]Val Guest's 1955 sci-fi thriller heads to Blu-ray in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Kino will be releasing 'The Quatermass Experiment' on Blu-ray on December 2. In this chilling film based on the hit BBC-TV serial The Quatermass Experiment, a rocket ship returns to earth with a frightening surprise on board. Two of the ship's three astronauts have mysteriously vanished, while the third, Victor Carroon, is sick with an unidentifiable illness. While doctors try to help Victor recover, an investigation takes place to figure out just what happened to his comrades. As it turns out, Carroon's body has been taken over by an alien fungus that needs blood to survive. After the astronaut escapes from the hospital, he transforms into a monster, attacking everyone who gets in its way. Meanwhile, Scotland Yard detective Lomax and Quatermass, a determined scientist, attempt to track down the creature before it finds new victims. Also known as The Creeping Unknown. LG Announces Music Flow Multi-Room Audio System[teaser]The company has revealed a new series of wireless home audio products. [/teaser] LG has detailed its upcoming Music Flow collection. The audio lineup includes three speakers (the H3, H5, and H7), a sound bar (HS6), a network bridge (R1), and a mobile app, allowing customers to enjoy music wirelessly throughout their home. "LG Music Flow takes the fast-growing concept of wireless multi-room audio systems to a new level with its smart convenience and superior sound quality," said Byung-hoon Min, senior vice president of the LG Home Entertainment Company audio-video division. "Our advanced system can create a personal soundtrack that not only follows the listener from room to room, but also when the user enters the home. LG engineers have set a whole new standard by introducing features and functions to the wireless audio system category that have never been available before on competing units." The Music Flow includes LG Home Chat integration for mobile recommendations, an NFC tag function, and Line app support. In addition, the system features an Auto Music Play option letting users switch from outdoor smartphone playback to indoor speaker playback automatically. Likewise, the LG Music Flow player app provides easy access to a customer's digital music library, automatic playlists designed for different moods, and streaming music services like Spotify, Deezer, Napster and TuneIn. Finally, the Music Flow system also makes use of mesh network tech, dual band Wi-Fi, and 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi playback across multiple inter-connectable devices. Pricing has not been detailed yet, but the LG H7 70W speaker, H5 40W speaker, and the R1 Network Bridge will be available in the UK later this month and will then expand to more markets following IFA 2014 in Berlin. The Android tablet is being manufactured by Samsung and is based on the company's popular Galaxy Tab 4. The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook features a 7-inch 1280x800 display with 216ppi. The device is rated for up to 10 hours of battery life and offers 8GB of internal storage and support for an additional 32GB via microSD. A rear 3MP camera and a front 1.3MP camera are also included. Likewise, Wi-Fi and a GPS are built-in as well. In addition, Barnes & Noble has integrated its Nook reading experience, giving users access to the Nook Store and over 3 million books along with personalized recommendations and curated lists.
