Marantz Announces the PM6004 Stereo Integrated Amplifier[teaser]An upgrade to the 6003, the latest amp from Marantz offers one big improvement. [/teaser] The PM6004 from Marantz doesn't reinvent the wheel or even change the face of amps, but it does feature one big change from the already well received 6300. The pre-amplification and power amplification sections of the PM6004 use their own discrete components. That means that you won't find a single amplifier integration circuit inside of the amp. It also means that Marantz was able to have more control over what happens in each stage. Aside from that, the PM6004 is pretty similar to the PM6003. It uses the same Toroidal transformer, the same capacitors, heat sink mounted transistor and even sports the same inputs. You can pick up the PM6004 on Amazon now. Best Buy Earnings Fall Dramatically[teaser]The company reports a 30 percent decline in the second quarter of 2011. [/teaser] Best Buy is doing pretty well in general. They've eliminated a lot of their competition and they're a household name when it comes to DVDs, Blu-rays, videogames, and electronics. Still, 2011 has been a bit of a rough one for them. In the second quarter of 2011, Best Buy reports a massive 30 percent drop in profits. One of the main reasons, according to the company, is a lack of major phone releases. A new iPhone is always a big seller for Best Buy and the lack of a new release is a bit of a blow. The other issue is that of costs. Best Buy is up in terms of sales in most categories, but with 113 new Best Buy Mobile stores being put in place, the money going out was more significant than the money coming in.
