Marantz Announces the PM6004 Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Posted Sep 14, 2011 at 09:00 AM PDT by Dick Ward

An upgrade to the 6003, the latest amp from Marantz offers one big improvement.

The PM6004 from Marantz doesn't reinvent the wheel or even change the face of amps, but it does feature one big change from the already well received 6300.

The pre-amplification and power amplification sections of the PM6004 use their own discrete components. That means that you won't find a single amplifier integration circuit inside of the amp. It also means that Marantz was able to have more control over what happens in each stage.

Aside from that, the PM6004 is pretty similar to the PM6003. It uses the same Toroidal transformer, the same capacitors, heat sink mounted transistor and even sports the same inputs.

You can pick up the PM6004 on Amazon now.
