'Torchwood: Miracle Day' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The 10-part fourth season of the sci-fi series is coming to Blu-ray in April. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner/BBC's 'Torchwood: Miracle Day' appears to be coming to Blu-ray on April 3. John Barrowman ('Doctor Who,' 'Desperate Housewives') and Eve Myles ('Doctor Who,' 'Little Dorrit') are joined by stars Mekhi Phifer ('ER, 'Lie to Me') and Bill Pullman ('While You Were Sleeping,' 'Independence Day') for a new heart-pounding season of 'Torchwood.' When convicted child killer Oswald Danes (Pullman) miraculously survives his own execution, the footage holds America transfixed. And then everyone realizes that nobody is dying. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next. People keep aging -- they get hurt and sick -- but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as CIA agent Rex Matheson (Phifer) investigates a secret British institution named Torchwood that seems to hold the answers, and finds only two surviving members: Gwen Cooper (Myles), who has retreated to a remote Welsh hideaway with her new family, and the mysterious, brilliant Captain Jack Harkness (Barrowman). But soon they all find themselves in the same fight against the greatest threat humanity has ever known – humanity itself. Specs have yet to be revealed for the 4-disc set, but supplements will include selected audio commentaries, character profiles, special effects featurette, behind-the-scenes special, iTunes intros, and Web of Lies motion comic. HBO Go Available on Samsung Connected TVs Except Through Comcast and Time Warner Cable[teaser]The service is also blocked by those providers if accessed through Roku players. [/teaser] Samsung has announced the availability of the HBO go streaming service on its internet connected TVs, letting HBO subscribers check out all their favorite content streaming whenever they want. Most, but not all Samsung TVs can handle the app, but Samsung was not specific as to which cannot. Don't get too excited if you're a Comcast or Time Warner subscriber though. You'll find the app blocked. Both companies have disallowed HBO Go on connected TVs and devices like the Roku Player as well. The reasoning behind this decision is unclear, and neither company has had much to say on the issue, but we're gonna go out on a limit and guess it's a matter of $$$$...$! A representative from Comcast was quick to point out that you can get all the HBO Go content via the Xfinity TV app, though that doesn't do much good for Samsung subscribers without Xfinity.
