The online video sharing website now allows users to download select content in 4K.
Vimeo has announced the addition of 4K video support. While creators have previously been able to upload their media in 4K, users can now download select videos at that same resolution.
4K downloading is available for content uploaded in Ultra HD by Vimeo PRO members and Vimeo On Demand sellers. 4K On Demand videos include all three seasons of 'Video Game High School' (trailer embedded below) and the documentary 'A Film About Coffee.' With that said, Vimeo is not ready to offer 4K streaming yet, but the website is planning to support the feature once higher broadband speeds become more widespread.
Vimeo users with fancy Ultra HD or higher monitors -- like the LG 31MU97, ViewSonic VX2880ml, Philips 288P6LJEB, and new 5K iMac -- can now download supported content in 4K.
