No more time for hype, it's 'Destiny' launch week.
There are games that seem to live and breathe unbelievable hype prior to release, and there are games that come around at the right time with just the right mix of genre features that the blow players away without exactly being an all-new experience. Thus far, through an alpha, beta, and multiple demonstrations, 'Destiny' appears to be both. The game is a boon for the new consoles, and that is in spite of still being featured similarly on the ol' PS3/360 generation.
What's clear is that Bungie knows the value of presentation, and has managed to even turn the poorly received story aspects into a "came from the moon" success. Really though, the shooting, questing, and looting is all top notch, and the game has managed to blur the line between single player, co-op, and MMO, in a way that makes it palatable to fans of all of those normally distinct play modes.
Whether or not 'Destiny' can continue to be a phenomenon and endure in the coming years remains to be seen, but as of this week, it is the game the majority of gamers will try out. Will you be there?

Last year around this time, you might be forgiven for thinking that EA had forgotten about the 'NHL' franchise. But this year, with 'NHL 15,' the series debts on the PS4 and Xbox One, sporting a new presentation, commentary team, individual player AI (emotion) package, and new physics. At least, that's on the PS4 and Xbox One. The PS3 and 360 look a little more legacy in their feature set. As is normal for a EA Sports franchise, not every feature of 'NHL 14' will be found in the first year PS4/Xbox One 'NHL 15.'
Though the original 'Fable' may have been marred by some overzealous hype prior to release, the game has huge fan base. With retouched visual and audio assets, new achievements, 'The Lost Chapters' content and a new difficulty mode, 'Fable Anniversary' is a lot more than a simple up-res. When it was released on the 360 back in February, many fans asked for a PC version, and now it's here. Those that grab it before the 12th will get 20% off and the free scythe content pack.
Alongside the white 'Destiny' PS4 bundle and Glacier White DualShock 4, Sony is also releasing the 'Limited Edition White Gold Wireless PlayStation Headset.' In white, this wirelessvheadset becomes even more stylish. At $100, these are a nice option for anyone looking for wireless virtual 7.1 on the PS3/PS4.
