There's Good News And Bad News If You Pre-Ordered A Steam Link Or Controller For Mac

Valve admits to serious compaitbility issues.

So,let's get the bad news out of the way first, If you pre-ordered either Steam Link, which allows you to stream Steam games from a computer to a TV, or the new Steam controller for Mac, Valve has issued a statement basically saying the whole blessed thing is borked. Steam Link won't sync with Mac hardware, and the controller won't emulate a gamepad on Macs either. The statement, sent via email to anyone who pre-ordered, mentions that a patch is incoming that'll bring everything up to parity with PCs, but it'll be a few weeks, minimum.

That's the bad. Here's the good: As a consolation prize, anyone who pre-ordered one or both devices is being gifted the Valve Collection--basically, a big bad $100 bundle containing everything Valve has ever made--completely free. Said pre-ordering folks can still opt out and get a refund, and the bundle is still theirs to keep. The return period has even been extended to 60 days just in case the hardware is still not ready for primetime in a reasonable frame. it's kinda hard to cry one's self to sleep when there's all the 'Counter-Strike' ever to be played, though.
