The action thriller directed by Walter Hill is gearing up for Blu-ray in July. You can pre-order the film here.
In an early announcement to retailers, Shout Factory is preparing 'Southern Comfort' for Blu-ray on July 8.
Walter Hill's action thriller has been interpreted as an allegory for the Vietnam war. While on an exercise in Louisiana, a group of National Guard members steal some canoes from the local Cajuns. Pursued by the angry locals, one of the men decides to fire at them, albeit with blanks. The Cajuns respond with real bullets, killing the team's commander, Poole (Peter Coyote). The men, none of whom are real soldiers, are now forced to fight for their lives.
Specs have not been detailed yet, but supplements will include: Making of Southern Comfort - featuring new interviews with director/writer Walter Hill, producer/writer David Giler and actors Keith Carradine, Powers Boothe, Peter Coyote and Lewis Smith; Theatrical Trailer; and Still Gallery.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is $29.93.
