Now fans just need a release date.
One of the surprise reveals to come out of this year's PlayStation E3 conference was the announcement of a retouched version of the Tim Schafer classic 'Grim Fandango.' The late 90's adventure game is a high water mark of for the genre, and as such a well-reputed game, fans have been waiting for something more. The game has been kept alive and playable in the mod community, but now, a proper remaster overseen by Tim Schafer is on the way for both the PS4 and PS Vita.
In addition to the two PlayStation versions, Tim Schafer's development company has just announced that the remastered 'Grim Fandango' will be releasing on the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms.
The game is being remastered as a collaborative effert between Double Fine and Sony with the full licensing of IP owner, Disney. Pre-Lucas Arts collapse, Tim Schafer's efforts to remaster the game were blocked by a disinterest on the part of Lucas Arts.
