$100 more than the COre bundle.

After solidifying several details surrounding the consumer version of the PlayStation VR headset, Sony is now ready with two bundles. The Core Bundle is priced at $399 and includes the PS VR Headset, cables, stereo headphones, and PlayStation VR Demo Disc. The Core bundle will go on sale on March 29th at 7am PT.  Meanwhile, the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle will goon sale on tomorrow, March 22nd at 7am PT. (Order here.)

The PlayStation VR Launch Bundle is priced at $499. It includes everythin in the Core bundle, plus the PlayStation Camera, 2 PlayStation Move Controllers, and the 'PlayStation VR Worlds' disc.

While I own quite a lot of random PlayStation hardware, including a PS Move set, I still think the Launch Bundle is the superior offering.

The headset features a OLED 5.7" screen, with 1920 x 1080p RGB running at 120hz.

The headset uses 9 LEDs for a 360 degree tracking field and displays a field of view of 100 degrees. And this is with latency of less than 18ms.

The headset works with the DualShock 4, PS Move, and the PS Camera. The headset also supports 3D audio.

The release window is set for October 2016 with a price of $499 (€399/£349/¥44,980).

PlayStation VR CES 2016

Naturally, the headset requires a PS4 to function. Sony has been working with 230 developers to get content ready and to get feedback on the development of the headset. Already, Sony has announced that 'Star Wars: Battlefront' will have content that is exclusive to PlayStation VR (a stand alone 'Battlefront' experience in VR), and that will come as part of a planned 50 launch window games. All PlayStation VR headset owners will be able to download the Playroom VR, which includes six family-friendly games. PlayStation VR will also offer a cinematic mode which will work with all current PS4 software, and the headset's release will see an update of the PS4's media player.
