Select receivers are now compatible with AirPlay 2.
Pioneer and Onkyo have announced the addition of Apple AirPlay 2 support to select AV Receiver and Networks Stereo Receiver models. The firmware update is now available to download for a wide-range of compatible products, including models released as far back as 2016.
With Apple AirPlay 2 support, users can control their audio systems via voice commands from a separate Siri device like an iPhone, iPad, HomePod, or Apple TV. Likewise, AirPlay 2 enables multi-room playback from Apple Music and other services to compatible devices in sync and at the same time.

Users can automatically update compatible network-connected devices by navigating to the system setup menu and following the instructions. Likewise, customers can also visit www.onkyousa.com or http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home to manually download the update.
Beyond Pioneer and Onkyo, Yamaha also recently announced its own AirPlay 2 update for select receivers and wireless speakers. Likewise, AirPlay 2 support will also be available on Samsung's new 2019 TVs and previously released 2018 TVs (via upcoming firmware).
