The musical sequel is soaring to theaters in December.
Disney has released a full trailer for Mary Poppins Returns. The new musical serves as a sequel to the 1964 classic, and is set to premiere on December 19.
In Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.

Mary Poppins Returns is directed by Rob Marshall from a screenplay by David Magee and a screen story by Magee & Rob Marshall & John DeLuca based upon the Mary Poppins Stories by PL Travers. DeLuca and Marshall also serve as producers, along with Marc Platt. In addition, Callum McDougall is on board as an executive producer.
The cast includes Emily Blunt as the title character; Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack; Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks; Julie Walters as Ellen; Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh, and Joel Dawson as the Banks' children; Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins; and Meryl Streep as Topsy. Likewise, Dick Van Dyke appears as Mr. Dawes, Jr. and Angela Lansbury plays the Balloon Lady.
The original Mary Poppins fist hit theaters back in 1964 and stars Julie Andrews as the iconic title character and Dick Van Dyke as her pal Bert.
