'Myst' Devs Release Teaser Trailer For New Exploration Game 'Obduction'

Exploration never looked so good.

Cyan Inc., the development studio behind seminal exploration games 'Myst' and 'Riven,' has released a teaser trailer for its next game, 'Obduction.'

Hailed as a 'Myst' spiritual successor, 'Obduction' tells the story of one person trying to find their way home after being abducted and placed in a strage location. Players will have the option to explore this world using, as Cyan puts it, "full gamer control," or go full retro and discover the landscape's secrets using only the mouse.

Though the gameplay of 'Obduction' might be inspired by the titles of the past, the game's graphics have received an upgrade. The world is driven by Unreal Engine 4, and you can see just what this engine allows the developers to create in the montage below.

'Obduction' is set for a mid-2016 release.
