Guess who's back?.
There was once a franchise named 'Gears of War.' It hit the extremely popular Xbox 360 (and Windows XP!) and proceeded to create an entire sub genre of cover-based third person shooters with beefy COG heroes and secondary Horde modes worthy of being entire standalone games (Horde, King of the Hill).
But that was then and a lot has changed. Epic and Unreal 3 have gone on to do other things, and the 360 is out of production (yet kept alive through b/c software). These days, Microsoft is all about the Xbox One and Windwos 10, and for a few select Play Anywhere games, a combination of both. 'Gears of War 4' is one such game.
It launches tomorrow. That is, the 'Ultimate Edition' does. And with it comes a new co-op campaign, competitive multiplayer, and Horde 3.0. (Check out the review here.)
