Digital expansion owners can still buy the Qwent decks separately.
As foretold long ago, CD Projekt RED has paid DLC coming to the huge success that is 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' (review here). The first of two announced expansions, 'Hearts of Stone,' is due to release on October 13th.
'Hearts of Stone' is promised as having 10 hours of new content, including new characters, romance options, monsters, and a new storyline. The expansion will also introduce a new Runeword system.
Runewords will allow players another way to decide how they'll play.
'Hearts of Stone' is includes with the Expansion Pass, and will also be offered as a single add-on for $9.99. CD Projekt RED has announced a special, limited boxed edition of 'Hearts of Stone' that will include a digital code for the expansion along with two physical decks of Qwent.
This boxed edition will be priced at $19.99. For any expansion pass owners that are interested in the decks, CD Projekt RED has a system in place to allow expansion pass owners to buy the decks seperately ($9.99) via this web site.
The second expansion pack, 'Blood and Wine,' is expected for 2016.
