Sega announced a release date alongside a new cinematic trailer for the Emperor Edition.
Due out on Sept. 16 for PC and Mac, the Emperor Edition will become the go-to purchase for anyone looking to get into last year's 'Total War: Rome II' as the strategy series continues is valiant but quiet crusade onto PCs. It's also a free update to current owners. Included are all of the game's free DLC packs and updates since launch, as well as some new content and tweaks alongside.
There's the Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack DLC,"covering events of the 2nd Triumvirate War, which ultimately sounded the death-knell of The Republic and ushered in the age of The Roman Empire," according to SEGA.
As for the tweaking, the Emperor Edition is introducing quite a few improvements to quite a few systems. Here's the gist:
"Comprising numerous improvements to the base game including overhauled building chains, a redeveloped and more impactful politics system, improved campaign and battle lighting and, of course, all free content updates since ROME II’s launch in September 2013."
For the tiniest little details, aimed more at current owners than potential customers, here's a video rundown from developer the Creative Assembly.
