Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition

A fan favorite reboot.

Most recently seen on PS4 and Xbox One as the 'Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition' (check out the review here), the franchise reboot  has rebounded from Square Enix's initial pronouncement as a sales disappointment (along with 'Sleeping Dogs' and 'Hitman: Absolution') all the way to the tune of 8.5 million copies sold, a record for any 'Tomb Raider' title. In spite of the gloomy outlook after the original March 2013 release, Square Enix has stated that the game also set franchise sales records on its first day and first month,

From Darrell Gallagher, head of Crystal Dynamics, "TOMB RAIDER ignited and expanded the fan base, pushing the series to a new level. The game's incredible sales success reflects the passionate response of players. Our studio is proud of what we accomplished with the game."

Of course, 'Tomb Raider' has been featured on five different and popular platforms. The sequel, 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' is an announced exclusive for the Xbox One. (Though other versions are expect at some point in distant future.)
