Early access backers can expect the PS4 version in December.
The 'Amplitude' remake continues to be developed and it seems, evolve significantly. Though Harmonix had been targeting a summer release, that plan has been changed completely. In an update to backers, the developer has explained that the game's scope has grown, with the target number of songs growing from 16 to 30 (31 for certain backers) while the game will now have 2 more playable environments and some additional modes and campaign features.
The new songs are very much Harmonix classics, aka original songs from the developers. With the expanded scope comes the news that the PS4 version is now set for a January 2016 release. The early access backer PS4 release target is now December. In both the cases, the PS3 version is expected to follow in a short amount of time.
While the delay means a big increase in content, the multiplayer remains local, but if this remake does, then a sequel could offer synchronous online multiplayer.
