And these bots have names.
Dissident Logic's couch brawler 'Paperbound' is coming to the PS4 and PC on March 31st. The game allows for 2-4 human players, but the developer has revealed a new addition, AI bots. Not only will the game have bots for either solo or group play, but bots will have different personalities in a classic but all-too seldom fashion.
From Dissident Logic,
The inclusion of these skillful bots allows solo players to enjoy the experience and is also great for simply filling out additional slots--perfect for team games with an odd number of players. Each particular AI character has their own play style and personality. For example, Juan Aguacate is aggressive and prefers melee, while Ninjeddy is more cautious and makes adept use of all available weapons. The bots also adapt to player skill level, and can be used in all game modes. We believe that players will find the bots to be a challenging and welcome addition to Paperbound when they play it either solo or with their friends!
'Paperbound' is set across five classic literary works, including such varied settings as 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' and 'Dante's Inferno.' These settings help give the game its distinct paper art style, but more importantly, they shape the free-form environments that let players move in all directions.
'Paperbound' features 18 levels and 11 original characters, all taken from the five books. The four modes are meant to keep the combat fresh and even set the game up so that the winner of match must race to the exit (a tear in the page) in order to secure victory. 'Paperbound' also features cameo characters such as Juan Aguacate from 'Guacamelee!,' The Locksmith from 'Monaco,' and Captain Viridian from 'VVVVVV.'
'Paperbound' will check in at price of $9.99 on PSN and Steam in North America on Marhc 31st. An EU release is expected in April.
