PS4, Xbox One, 360, OBS, XSplit, PC, Mac.
In recent years, Elgato has made some very good external capture cards, including the HD60 and the Game Capture HD, and more recently, the internal HD 60 pro has set another high bar. But now, the company has a new external capture/stream solution in the elgato HD60 S. The HD60 S can stream and record in 1080p60, and can do it without any in-window lag. One key feature for the HD 60 S is USB 3.0, which comes via an included USB-C to USB 3.0 A cable.
Overall, the HD60 S supports a maximum bitrate of 40Mbps.
In addition to the external card's lag-free HDMI passthrough, the HD60 S also allows for analog audio in, which should facilitate a variety of streaming needs. Naturally, the HD 60 S will be supported by Elgato's impressive software, which is XSplit and OBS friendly, and will, with an update in the next few weeks, step up its Mac support. (With the HDMI comes support for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and 360 among other things.)
While there is a special 200 spot early access program (see here), the HD60 S is due for a normal release on April 18th. Pricing is set at $179.95 (EUR 189.95 / GBP 149.95 / AUD 279.95) Order here.
