Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.
Last week, Blizzard introduced fans to Soldier: 76. He's the newest playable character in 'Overwatch,' its upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter. Now the studio has released a 10-minute gameplay video highlighting this new hero and the kind of power he brings to the battlefield.
Soldier: 76 looks to play like your typical run-and-gunner with the added benefit of an area-of-effect heal that he can drop down to support his team or just when his health is starting to slip. With a plasma rifle bound to one mouse button and a rocket launcher on the other, Soldier: 76 should be easy to pick up for any FPS fan.
The gameplay video shows Soldier: 76 on the defending team in a capture point game mode. In the demonstration, Soldier: 76 excels at quickly picking off enemy players who stray a little too far from the group and then ducking back out of the line of fire. You can check out the gameplay footage below.
