Online issues on consoles, PC performance to be addressed
From the get-go, Netherrealm head honcho Ed Boon has been vocal about the issues that have been plaguing 'Mortal Kombat X' on both console and PC, and yesterday, during a Twitch livestream, Boon brought glad tidings that some major fixes are on the way.
For console players, the biggest issue has been the online server performance, which is, by Boon's own admission, "certainly better than where we were at launch, but by no means.... where we want or need to be." The upcoming patch, in this case, will be drastically improving the netcode for accessing the Faction pages, leaderboards, and the Living Towers. For PC players, well, the list of problems could probably wrap around a city block a few times. In which case, Boon simply stated the patch "literally brings the PC version to parity with the console versions." Lastly, for all platforms, a feature is being introduced where a signal threshold can be set to keep players from connecting to a game if the other player's connection is too weak, which should cut back on disconnects and lag a great deal.
The best news is Netherrealm is hard at work with all this, and expects the patch to release "any day now". In the meantime, this might be a good time to mention the 'MKX' mobile app just released on Android as of today.
