Geralt continues to be a tease.
CD Projekt RED has delayed the Closed Beta for their upcoming card game, 'Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.' The beta, which was originally supposed to start in September, has now been delayed to October 25th. The Polish developer has explained that the delay is because "[they] can make a first impression only once," and that the studio prioritizes delivering a good experience to players above hitting a date.
Based upon the popular 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' distraction of the same name, 'Gwent' looks to flesh out the card game into a standalone experience. It'll also step into the competitive collectible card game market that is currently dominated by Blizzard. Much like their competitor 'Hearthstone,' CD Projekt RED's card game will be free-to-play on all platforms.
'Gwent's Closed Beta will only be for Xbox One and PC players, and will be testing cross-platform play between the two versions. The full game will also be releasing on PlayStation 4, so it'll hit all of the platforms that 'The Witcher 3' came out on in 2015.
