Premium DLC to now be released for free.
Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that 'Gravity Rush 2' will not be making its expected December release date, with director Keiichiro Toyama stating that "though production is proceeding smoothly, the landscape for that release date has changed dramatically", likely referencing the fact that the game was set to release within days of heavy hitters such as 'Final Fantasy XV' and 'The Last Guardian'.
The game will now be releasing on January 20th, and to make up for the delay, the developer has announced that the game's planned premium DLC will now be released free of charge to all players.
This is almost certainly the smartest move Sony could make with this game. While it has an extremely devoted fanbase, it was never going to do particularly well financially, and 'FFXV' would've certainly killed its chances of profitability. It's not a huge delay, and the DLC now being free definitely takes off any sting from the extra wait.
