And the new department is led by former EA Sports president Peter Moore.
Powerhouse publisher Electronic Arts announced that it is setting up a new Competitive Gaming Division to allow the company to do more in the world of eSports under the leadership of Peter Moore.
The publisher's new release specifically mentions three EA game series—'FIFA,' 'Madden,' and 'Battlefield'—as primary franchises that will be featured in this new competitive gaming push. The goal of the new division is threefold, according to the release: bringing together the EA player community, putting together official EA competitions, and making these competitions available to watch for the community at large.
Joining Moore in heading this new department will be Todd Sitrin, who, like Moore, has a background in the EA Sports division.
