Games continues to grow through updates.
'Alien: Isolation' was one of this year's biggest licensed success, as it finally delivered an enjoyable game based on a great film. (Check out the review here.) That said, there has been a bit of divide between various players. Some players have felt rocked by the game's default challenge, finding it playable, but not wanting to replay it that way. Meanwhile, more hardcore players have wanted to take it to another level, for a true survival experience. Fortunately, for both groups, Creative Assembly has released a new update that that adds both Novice and Nightmare Difficulty modes.
While Novice mode features a less menacing alien, easier combat, and more resources, Nightmare mode goes into a darker direction.
In Nightmare mode, players can expect to have a broken motion tracker which will display unreliable information, no health bar, ammo counter, or flashlight indicator. The map will be offline, and the flame thrower will burn faster. Resources will be light while combat will be more difficult. The alien, meanwhile, will be at its "ultimate" difficulty.
