'Brut@l' Brings Its ASCII Action to PC Next Year

Fitting considering its lineage.

Stormcloud Games has teamed up with publiher Rising Star Games to bring 'Brut@l' to PC. The procedurally-generated dungeon crawler released earlier this month exclusively on PlayStation 4 as part of Sony's PLAY 2016 promotion, and gained praise for its unique art style that's an homage to 1980s ASCII dungeon crawlers such as 'Rogue.' That's why it's only fitting that it's coming to computers, and Stormcloud Games is planning for a release in early 2017.

Players can choose from four different types of heroes in 'Brut@l': Ranger, Mage, Warrior or Amazon. Each fighter has their own play style, and new weapons for them can be crafted (out of letters) from within the dungeon. The goal of this roguelike is to reach the 26th floor of the labyrinth, where the Guardian of the Dungeon awaits.

Rising Star Games has put out a new trailer to celebrate the PC version announcement. Watch it below:

The PC version of the game will include all of the features of its PS4 counterpart, including local cooperative play and a dungeon creator mode.

'Brut@l' is out now on PlayStation 4, and will release on PC in early 2017.
