Three PlayStation versions, one price.
These days, the biggest games on the new consoles are a mix of AAA monsters and plucky indies, but back in the early nineties a game was released that managed to capture both of those worlds. That combination of production finish and independent development resulted in a game that is well loved and has seen its far share of ports. Yet for years a proper console version has eluded fans' grasp. That changes now as 'Another World' is coming to the PS4. This new version has been retouched to achieve a HD presentation as detailed today.
"Since the original version, the re-editions have introduced a number of nice additions, like 256 colors backgrounds, up to 720p resolutions, more checkpoints and remastered sound effects. This version now delivers a full HD experience. The game is rendered at a higher than displayed resolution to enable clean anti-aliased polygon edges. On PS4 that’s a whopping 2560×1600 pixels! The backgrounds have been edited by Eric to a higher resolution and are now displayed in full color. The result is a noise-free, crisper, and more vibrant environment... The animations were also refined to remove the rough edges revealed by such a high resolution rendering." This version even has multiple soundtrack options.
So PS4 owners will be able to get arguable the best version of a classic title, but even better the game is also coming to the PS3 and Vita with cross save. As a cross buy title, all three versions are included whenever any version is bought. 'Another World' is due out on the PS4 on July 8th (June 25th in Europe).
