Beginning with 'Rocket League' on PS4 and PC.
Today, Microsoft has announced that they will be allowing cross-platform play between Xbox One and any other platform, beginning with 'Rocket League', which will allow PC and Xbox One users to play with each other, additionally, they will allow any other networks to participate if they so choose. It's up to individual developers to use the feature, and it's not yet known if Sony will allow for cross-platform play with Xbox One, but this is very cool news nonetheless.
It's interesting seeing Microsoft turn around on this. Square Enix had spoken to MS in the past about getting 'FFXIV' on Xbox One, but since they wouldn't allow cross-platform play, it looked like it wouldn't happen. Now that they're opening up cross-platform play, things could change in a very big way.
