Yep, that's a Platinum game, all right
After Square Enix's E3 presentation left us hanging, we finally get our first good look at the new 'Nier'--now carrying the official subtitle of 'Automata'--which, we found out a few weeks ago, is being spearheaded by the folks responsible for the 2010 original, but is otherwise a Platinum Games joint all the way through.
It's fairly obvious, too, from this new gameplay trailer which was unveiled during Playstation's Paris Games Week. The aesthetic is the same from the previous gen title, though leaning a little heavier on a very 'Castle In The Sky' vibe. The gameplay, however, is looking slick. It's not as wild as Platinum's usual bag of tricks, but its certainly looking freewheeling and fun in a way the interesting but kinda stiff original wasn't. Have a look below, then skip over to the Playstation Blog for the first story details from the game..
