New events, new Adversary modes, new features.
The new update to 'GTA V' is on its way on September 15th. Now, Rockstar most certainly made good on their promise to bring the Rockstar Editor to PS4 and Xbox One--in fact, Rockstar North's design director Imran Sarwar shared the good news with Mashable that they were able to achieve complete feature parity with the PC version--but the update is apparently bringing a lot more to the table than that.
The biggest one is Freemode, which allows for new events to pop up seamlessly in the game world without having to wait around for load times or lobbies. Challenges will simply pop up in the world, and you jump in and out at will. There's also two new modes there: King of the Castle, in which "you’ll need to ascend and claim the designated 'castle' as your territory – and then fend off everyone else as they go all out to dethrone you. ", and Hunt The Beast, where one player is transformed into what appears to be super-powerful werewolf, and other players must relentlessly hunt the thing across the map to bring it down.
Two new Adversary modes are also being added in as well: Cross the Line, where "heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory," and Hunting Pack, in which one team of cars must bring down another team's special vehicle before it reaches its destination. And did we mention the special vehicle is rigged up like the bus from 'Speed', and will explode if it drops below a certain MPH?
A trailer for the new modes is embedded below. Clear your schedule.
