EA promising more free content as well.
There's big news today for both current and future players of 'Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.' The game is already out on the Xbox One and 360, but EA has just announced that the PC version will finally be released on June24th.
The PC version will include both currently released free update packs, Garden Variety & Zomboss Down and is currently priced at $29.99 on Amazon. Pre-ordering scores both a $5 digital games credit as well as two Garden Warfare Booster Packs.
The other big bit of 'Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare' news is the upcoming addition of microtransactions.
From EA, "Starting next week, players will be given the option to purchase coins from the Sticker Shop, which allows players the ability to access new packs and character content more quickly – all the same content that can be earned through regular gameplay. Now you have the choice to play your way; you can play to get new packs and content via earned coins in the game, or you can purchase coins to get more of the packs and content you want right away."
From the High-Def Digest review of 'Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare' on the Xbox One:
"Where the team is pushing into new ground, and where the developer's mobile roots shine so vibrantly, is in class progression and customization. It's all about stickers; random, glorious stickers."
"In-game currency, of which there is currently no microtransaction equivalent, is spent on sticker packs... It's a weird system, designed with the potential for future microtransactions. Free for now, and hopefully for awhile, some of those stickers can really brighten up your day. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for me, but it's good for the game."
Along with the announced microtransactions, which are set to apply to progression rather than exclusive content, EA has promised that there will be more free content for the game in the future.
