Coming October 18.
A form of modding is coming to 'Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition' and 'Minecraft: Pocket Edition' as part of the Boss Update coming October 18, and Mojang has released a video to get everyone familiar with the idea before launch.
'Minecraft' Add-Ons, as they are called, will be a way for creative 'Minecraft' players to alter the form, appearance, and behavior of the game's mobs. As the video below shows, this can take the form of everything from titanic yet pacifist Creepers to devastatingly explosive pigs. These Add-Ons can be inserted into 'Minecraft' worlds and then enjoyed alone or with a multiplayer party.
Mojang will be demonstrating just how much these Add-Ons can alter the pace of the game with two sample Add-Ons that will be available once the Boss Update launches. The Alien Invasion Add-On, shown off at E3, has players defending a location from aliens, while Castle Siege will allow players to choose sides and either attack a well-defended keep or man the battlements and keep the invading force out.
You can catch the Add-On introduction video below.
