Maybe we'll even get a 'League of Legends' fighter out of this.
Riot Games, the studio behind 'League of Legends' has just purchased Radiant Entertainment, largely known for PC free-to-play fighting game 'Rising Thunder', which will be shut down on March 18th of a new project the studio will be working on, with the. Radiant previously ran a Kickstarter campaign for an RTS/RPG hybrid called 'Stonehearth', which Radiant says is still going full steam ahead.
This is very interesting news, as 'Rising Thunder' gained a lot of acclaim for its mechanics, but was criticized for its somewhat dull cast, the idea that Radiant could potentially use that game as a base for either an entirely new fighting game, or even one using characters from 'League of Legends' is very exciting indeed. Of course, that's all speculation for now, but even so, purchasing Radiant should help Riot get an even greater standing in the eSports arena.
