Won't be shown at E3.
Nintendo has announced that their newest console, currently titled the NX, will be launching in March 2017. No other major info was announced, other than that the console is a "brand new concept" and that it won't be shown off at E3 this year, with Nintendo instead choosing to focus on the new 'Zelda' title due out next year. They have also stated that the NX won't replace the Wii U and 3DS.
Missing the holidays and avoiding showing the system at E3 is a risky move, but here's hoping the end result is worth it. I'll take a later release if it leads to a more interesting launch lineup. That said, there's no way that, if this is indeed the console/handheld hybrid that's been rumoured for years, it won't replace the Wii U and 3DS. After all, the DS wasn't actually intended to be a GBA replacement. Still, here's hoping the new system turns out interesting and worthwhile.
