Platform exclusives will no longer be exclusive.
Only five weeks after the release of 'Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes,' and Kojima and Konami have announced that there is an incoming change to the content of the game. This change comes virtue of the game's new status as a million copy seller. To celebrate the sales milestone, the two platform specific missions, 'Déjà Vu' (PlayStation) and Jamais Vu (Xbox) will be made available in all four versions of the game.
The change is due on May 1st, and likely will come via a patch. Playing those missions originally required located all "XOF" patch items in the game. Once found, the respective paltform exclusive mission would be unlocked. On the PS3 and PS4, 'Déjà Vu' featured a series of short flashback sequences inspired by the PS1 'Metal Gear Solid.' On the Xbox One and 360, Jamais Vu allowed players to take the role of 'Metal Geal Rising: Revengeance's Raiden.
Considering the game's relatively short amount of content, unlocking the platform exclusive missions should be a move welcome by all players.
From the High-Def Digest review of 'Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes:'
"Unlocking the PlayStation exclusive 'Déjà Vu' mission really takes some doing without a guide. The mission itself has a few nice 'Metal Gear Solid' moments, which feature a little of the goofy things missing in the 'Ground Zeroes' main mission, but feels very slight even for fan service. It certainly doesn't seem worth a double-dip purchase."
