So sayeth Xbox's boss.
Time to put two in the back of this rumor before it mutates. Somehow, word got around from an anonymous source that Microsoft was preparing to spend not millions, but BILLIONS of dollars to buy the 'Silent Hill' license from Konami and resurrect poor old 'Silent Hills' from oblivion. Never minding that the last time Microsoft blew that kind of cash on a franchise, it was for 'Minecraft', and that probably sold more copies in the last half hour than 'Silent Hill' games have sold in the last 16 years. Still, the rumor floated. Until Xbox head Phil Spencer took to Twitter today to strike that sucker down.
@GoReds42093 @Xbox Sorry, this isn't true. Not sure where the rumor started but I don't want to mislead anyone.

We know, we know, we're looking for any sign of hope at this point, and no number of empty promises from Konami will make up for how dirty we've all been done during this whole corporate fustercluck. But this particular hope was insane from the get-go folks. Move along, nothing to see.
