Forget befriending woodland creatures. Wild bears are much more effective.
Blizzard has pulled back the curtain on Rexxar, the new ranged warrior that will be coming this week to 'Heroes of the Storm.'
In a new video, Blizzard goes into the gameplay details of the burly, ax-throwing nature lover. All of Rexxar's abilities relate to his animal companions, primarily his bear Misha, who remains at Rexxar's side throughout matches. Players can toggle whether Misha is out mauling enemies or playing defensively close to Rexxar. One of Rexxar's abilities allows Misha to damage and stun enemies in front of her, while another allows the player to quickly refill the bear's health bar.
Rexxar also has two other animal partners, a hawk and a horde of boars. Both animals slow enemies, but the boars are a bit more useful in that they lock on to opponents and reveal their positions on the team map in addition to their other effects. Both of these animals are summoned with abilities.
The video also gives players a few pointers on how to efectively utilize Rexxar. For example, it mentions how Misha can soak up damage while Rexxar attacks from a distance with his axes, giving the warrior access to a tank even when he's unsupported.
For the full introduction, you can check out the video below. Rexxar is set to enter the 'Heroes of the Storm' fray this week.
