"A 'Game of Thrones' for the family audience."
No this isn't a forum debate. The Wall Street Journal has reported that Nintendo's classic and beloved fantasy, action RPG game series, 'The Legend of Zelda' is being adapted in a live-action TV show for Netflix. If that's not enough intrigue for you, then the pitch of 'The Legend of Zelda' TV show as a 'The Game of Thrones' clone but with more family friendly content might do the trick.
Naturally, for fnas of the game series, the mere possibility of such an adaptation raises questions. Certainly, the animated 'Zelda' series would not provide much in the way of inspiration. The game series has not only had several variations of Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, The Triforce, Hyrule and so on, but even just the Toon Link series of games, which heavily feature child age characters could make for a dramitically different show.
'The Game of Thrones' analog suggests Sheik, the Twilight Princess, and not so much Tingle, but even having Link speak dialogue would be a big change for fans.
