For those who feel that guns are too impersonal.
An upcoming update to Bungie's 'Destiny' will take on common glitches with the game's melee attacks, the developer announced.
Two glitches were highlighted in the Bungie blog post about upcoming fixes: one where a player hears a melee hit connect but no damage registers, and one where an attack looks like it should connect but doesn't. According to Bungie engineer Jon Cable, the first is a networking issue, and the second is a problem with the game's Sandbox.
Fixes for both are reportedly in the pipeline, and players should see more efficacy from Arc Blades and Shoulder Charges once they launch. These melee attacks won't be infallible, though. Cable warns that some cases of both issues will still occur in certain circumstances.
Bungie states that these melee fixes will not be coming alongside this week's 2.2.0.2 patch on May 3 (which deals with minor chest, quest, and reward bugs). Instead, the melee fixes are currently scheduled to go live next Tuesday, May 10, to make sure the Sandbox changes don't break the rest of the game.
