Being developed by 'Persona' veterans.
Atlus has revealed that they will be announcing a brand new fantasy RPG project on December 23rd via NicoNico. The game will be developed by a new studio within Atlus called Studio Zero, and the game will be headed up by 'Persona 5' director Katsura Hashino, with character designs from Shigenori Soejima, also known for his work on the 'Persona' franchise. No platforms have been revealed for the game as of yet.
Director Hashino acknowledges that most Atlus RPGs tend to go for settings that aren't traditional for JRPGs, and that this new project is adopting a more common fantasy setting in order to challenge genre norms and start over completely from zero, as opposed to working with the sorts of ideas that Atlus has become known for. No visuals for the game have been released other than a single character design, which you can see right here:
