Play the game and grab the DLC before May 5th.
'Etrian Mystery Dungeon' hits on April 7th, and it seems that the period between April 7th and May 5th will be the best time to play. During that time, the game's DLC will be free. That's five quests that will be free until May 5th when they will become paid content.
The first three DLC quests involve finding a lost adventurer in the dungeons. Once found, the adventurer will yield a recipe for meals that Niralda can cook for players in the Amber Cafe. These meals give players buffs that last a single dungeon run.
Here are the three quests:
Find a Wanderer for me! Find the master chef Wanderer to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49 after May 5th)
Find a Princess for me! Find the stray Sovereign to unlock a meal fit for a king in the Amber Restaurant! ($1.99 after May 5th)
Find a Landsknecht for me! Find the adventurous Landsknecht to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49 after May 5th)
The two other quests are repeatable that also involve Niralda:
Know the Red Pookas? Slay a Red Pooka wandering around the dungeon to receive a Golden or White potion for extra experience! ($1.99 after May 5th)
Slay the Gold Guardian! Defeat an elusive Gold Guardian in the dungeon to receive a Nugget of Gold fragment for extra gold! ($1.49 after May 5th)
So that's $8.49 in DLC that can be had for free during the first month.
Also, starting on March 31st, there will be an 'Etrian Mystery Dungeon' 3DS theme available to buy ($.99) from the eShop. The theme is static but does include the games theme song.
Developed by Spike Chunsoft, 'Etrian Mystery Dungeon' is due out on the 3DS on April 7th.
