Disney has released the first trailer for its upcoming Disney+ Star Wars show, The Mandalorian. The series comes from executive producer Jon Favreau and will debut with the streaming service on November 12. In addition, the studio also confirmed rumors that it's developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the title character, along with Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
In addition to executive producing, Jon Favreau also serves as the show's writer. Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is on board to direct the first episode of the series. Likewise, Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), and Bryce Dallas Howard are attached to direct episodes as well.
Meanwhile, though plot details have not been announced yet, Disney also confirmed plans to start shooting an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor sometime next year. The actor previously appeared as Obi-Wan in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) -- where he portrayed a younger version of the character first played by Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars trilogy.
The Mandalorian and the upcoming Obi-Wan series will also be joined by a Rogue One prequel show starring Diego Luna. Disney+ is set to launch on November 12 for a monthly subscription price of $6.99.
