If you're not playing with Davy Jones, you're doing it wrong.
'Disney Infinity 3.0' brings together Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars properties together for some cross-universe fun. To round out the collection, though, it looks like a little bit of Nintendo is getting thrown into the mix as well.
The Disney Inifnity Twitter is promoting a new game mode called 'Squid Wars,' a Toy Box challenge map that pays tribute to 'Splatoon,' Nintendo's hit multiplayer Wii U title. Players in the map grab paint-shooting pistols and try to cover as much of the map's surface area as possible with their team's color, the same general goal behind 'Splatoon.' The map itself even looks to be inspired by 'Splatoon' level design.
The similarities stop there, though. Characters can't swim quickly along painted areas like in 'Splatoon,' and it looks like weapon choice is limited to the one blaster, but it's still a nice tribute to a game that much of the 'Disney Infinity' audience is likely already familiar with. Imitation, flattery, and all that.
You can head to the Disney Infinity website to check out this Toy Box out for yourself.
Download Squid Wars now for some inky fun, and don’t forget to submit your own Toy Boxes! https://t.co/2RY7EmV9Me pic.twitter.com/1p8ukpWzLp
