Codemasters Announces a Trio of Racing Titles Including 'F1 2014,' 'Colin McRae Rally,' and the First F1 Title for PS4 and Xbox One

Racing fans have three reasons to be excited.

Codemasters and publisher Bandai Namco have announced a date for 'F1 2014,' which will land on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 21st.

From Namco Bandai, "F1 2014 is the culmination of five years of experience developing officially licensed, award-winning FORMULA 1 video games and delivers fans the most accessible experience yet. F1 2014 will incorporate this season’s seismic rule changes – the most significant in the sport’s 60 year history – including new aerodynamic regulations and turbocharged power units. All but two teams have changed their driver line-ups and new circuits have been added to the roster. Players will experience how 2014’s radically different new cars feel to drive as the season’s cars, circuits and teams are authentically represented."

Of course, the immediate question is, what about the PS4 and Xbox One? For that, fans need to look to 2015, where a new F1 title will land on the new platforms. This new game will appear much earlier in the year and fans can expect a stream of updates.

"In 2015, Codemasters will introduce a new FORMULA 1 title for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The title will launch earlier in the FORMULA ONE season and players will receive digital updates for the game as the 2015 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™ unfolds, enabling players to compete against the drivers and teams they watch week in and week out."

Finally, today sees the release of an updated version of 'Colin McRae Rally' on the PC. From Codemasters, "This version features handling and physics inspired by Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and is upgraded with re-mastered audio and definitively fancier 1080p graphics. You'll find yourself tackling 30 classic rally stages with a combined distance of over 130km in four legendary cars: the Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Lancia Stratos and of course the Subaru Impreza."
